Florida State University Lockdown: 2 Dead, Shooter Was Sheriff’s Officer’s Son. Two people were killed and five others were injured in a shooting incident on the Florida State University campus. The shooter is believed to be the son of a sheriff’s deputy. A shooting also occurred at a high school in Texas and injured five students.
The shooting incident occurred on the main campus of Florida State University on Thursday. The shooting incident resulted in two people reportedly killed and five others injured. Florida Police Chief Jason Trambow said at a press conference that the two victims who died were not students at the campus. The five injured people have been rushed to local hospitals.
Sheriff Walter Amigil said the shooter was the son of a Leon County sheriff’s deputy. The shooter himself was successfully subdued by campus security officers and rushed to the hospital.
Previously, a shooting occurred at Wilmer Hatchun High School in Dallas, Texas, United States, on Tuesday. Aerial footage showed all students being evacuated from the school. Dozens of police, fire and rescue vehicles were deployed to secure the location. At least five students were victims of the shooting. The victims, who were between the ages of 15 and 18, are now undergoing treatment in hospital with minor to serious injuries.
The Dallas Police Chief said at a news conference that the suspect is a 17-year-old who allegedly entered the school and opened fire at random. He has been charged with first-degree mass shooting with violence or serious crimes. Authorities have not released any information on a motive for the shooting as the investigation continues.
