Israel’s UN Ambassador on Iran’s Threats, G-7 Summit, and Middle East Security

Calgary, In a recent interview, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations addressed critical issues, including Iran’s nuclear ambitions, the outcomes of the G-7 summit, and escalating Middle East tensions.

Iran’s Nuclear Threat and Ballistic Missile Program

The Ambassador emphasized Iran’s aggressive stance, stating, “We believe the Iranians when their leaders say they want to exterminate Israel and build a nuclear bomb.” He warned that while Iran’s ballistic missiles currently target Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, they could soon reach major U.S. cities like New York and Miami.

“We are blocking Iran’s nuclear ambitions and preventing them from developing weapons that could rival the U.S. and Russia combined,” he added.

G-7 Summit: What’s Next for Israel and Middle East Security?

When asked about expectations from the G-7 meeting, the Ambassador stressed the need for clarity and unity among democracies against Iran’s threats. He highlighted Israel’s efforts to isolate Iran diplomatically while strengthening regional alliances.

“Our allies in the Middle East feel safer when they see our military actions against Iranian-backed threats,” he said.

UN’s Response and Criticism of Bias Against Israel

The Ambassador criticized the United Nations for its disproportionate condemnation of Israel, citing that last year, 17 UN resolutions targeted Israel, while only six addressed human rights violations in North Korea, Iran, and Syria.

“After October 7, the UN failed to pass a resolution condemning Hamas,” he noted. “We will continue fighting the hypocrisy at the UN, especially with the incoming U.S. Ambassador.”

Escalating Conflict: Civilian Attacks vs. Military Targets

The Ambassador condemned Iran and its proxies, such as Hezbollah, for targeting Israeli civilians, while Israel focuses on military sites and leadership.

“The UN falsely equates Iran and Israel, ignoring that Iran is the aggressor,” he said. “We are determined to neutralize this threat, even at a heavy cost.”

How Will This Conflict End?

When asked about a resolution, the Ambassador asserted that Iran must be stripped of its nuclear capabilities for lasting peace.

“History shows that agreements alone won’t stop Iran. The world must act decisively.”
