US strike on Yemen fuel port kills at least 33, Houthi media says
WASHINGTON (Business News) – The U.S. carried out airstrikes on the Ras Isa oil terminal in western Yemen, resulting in at least 33 fatalities on Thursday, according to reports from Houthi-controlled media outlets. This incident marks one of the most lethal days since the commencement of American assaults on these Iran-supported insurgents.
Al Masirah TV reported that the attacks, claimed by the U.S. military as an attempt to sever a supply line of fuel for the Houthi militia, resulted in injuries to 80 individuals besides the strikes.
Last month, the U.S. initiated extensive airstrikes against the Houthis, stating that these will continue until they halt their assaults on vessels navigating through the Red Sea.
“The aim of these attacks was to weaken the economic foundation of Houthi power, as they persist in exploiting and causing immense suffering to their own people,” stated U.S. Central Command in an X post.
