Coldplay Unveils Korean Edition of ‘We Pray,’ Collaborating with TWICE

SEOUL, April 18 (Yonhap) — On Friday, the British rock band Coldplay unveiled a revised edition of their track “We Pray,” which includes additional vocals from the K-pop girl group TWICE, incorporating some Korean lyrics performed partly by them.

Warner Music Korea has announced that the track, which initially appeared on Coldplay’s most recent album titled Moon Music, now features vocal contributions from TWICE, who perform certain sections in Korean. In its initial release, the song included verses by British artist Little Simz along with singer-songwriter Elyanna.

Coldplay first unveiled the collaborative performance with TWICE during their live concert held at the main stadium of Goyang Sports Complex on Apr. 16. TWICE also appeared as special guests, opening the show ahead of Coldplay’s headline set.

We feel privileged to have worked together on a track that conveys a message of hope and peace,” TWICE stated. “It held greater significance for us to perform our portions in Korean.

The band’s tour in South Korea has attracted notice not just because of their prominent partnership with TWICE but also due to their commitment to sustainability. The event at the concert site prohibited single-use plastics and promoted the usage of refillable water containers.

The group also implemented eco-friendly energy solutions, such as kinetic floors that generate electricity when fans jump or dance, and “power bikes” that produce power through pedaling.

After the concert, Coldplay gathered the LED wristbands handed out to attendees. These devices featured live display updates of return percentages per city to boost participation levels. Fans from Korea enthusiastically joined in, posting encouragement on the social media site formerly known as Twitter using phrases like “Aim for a 100% recovery!” and “Don’t forget to remind those nearby about returning your wristband.”

Coldplay’s tour in South Korea includes six shows and will continue until April 25.
