National Retailer Set to Open in Former Big Lots Location: Here’s What We Know

Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, an American discount retail chain, is set to join as a new merchant in Topeka.

The new retail store will be located at the former Big Lots site at 5121 S.W. 29th St.

According to its website, Ollie’s is the biggest seller of discounted goods and surplus stock in the U.S. These stores offer products like home accessories, groceries, literature, flooring options, playthings, personal care items, and much more.

Tom Kuypers, who serves as Ollie’s marketing and advertising director, mentioned that the firm is thrilled about inaugurating the new site in the capital city.

“Midsummer, we plan to open at the previous Big Lots site in Topeka,” Kuypers informed The Capital-Journal.

He mentioned that it’s difficult to pinpoint precise dates because of potential construction hurdles, but midsummer is the target.

Openings for a retail store manager and a retail co-store manager positions are available at this location.

On February 27, Ollie’s Bargain Outlet Holdings Inc. disclosed the purchases made through Gordon Brothers, a liquidation company managing the disposal of Big Lots stores. The company based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, noted that these acquisitions are contingent upon receiving final approval from the bankruptcy court and meeting standard closing requirements.
