Trump: Carter Died ‘Happy’ Because He ‘Wasn’t the Worst President’

President Trump stated at a Thursday press conference in the Oval Office that former President Carter passed away “happily.”

In December 2024, Carter passed away, securing his place as the oldest-living president in U.S. history. This former leader from Plains, Georgia, garnered respect across political divides and received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for advocating global human rights awareness.

“Jimmy Carter passed away contentedly because he wasn’t considered the worst president; Joe Biden took that position,” Trump stated to journalists.

The president’s comments pertained to his “reciprocal” tariffs, which he claims will significantly enhance the nation’s economic expansion more than ever before compared to past governments.

“I believe we’ll witness incredible figures once all of this unfolds. It’s occurring,” he stated.

Previously, Trump mentioned that many nations were seeking to negotiate a “deal” with the U.S. aimed at enhancing trade relations.

“Now, everyone aims to strike a deal, and if they aren’t interested in making one, go ahead and make the deal for them since that’s what will end up happening,” Trump stated in the Oval Office.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni attended an event at the White House on Thursday aimed at facilitating a trade deal on behalf of the European Union. This initiative came as a reaction to the president’s imposition of 20 percent tariffs on products from EU countries.

The European Union is presently contributing 10 percent on U.S. imports as a result of the president’s 90-day suspension of tariffs, however, officials have indicated their desire to swiftly secure a deal with Washington.

Worldwide worries have emerged about how tariffs might affect global markets, with U.S. business leaders and economic experts questioning whether America’s manufacturing sector can quickly expand to satisfy consumer needs.

Trump has maintained that changes were made to ensure the U.S. was not treated “unfairly,” as he claimed happened in previous years.

“I believe we’ll perform even better this time as you’ll notice that the figures we’re seeing are incredibly high; we’re generating an enormous sum through these tariffs,” the president stated to the press.

“We experienced significant unfair treatment, and these nations are struggling to adjust to the reality that they canno longer mistreat us due to having an actual president. This president comprehends the situation fully,” he further stated.
