Tens of thousands of Israelis demonstrated on Saturday, March 22, 2025, protesting the failure of the Benjamin Netanyahu government to release Sandra, not only about Sandra, Israeli citizens are also dissatisfied with Netanyahu’s actions in firing the Head of the Internal Security Agency.
In their action, the demonstrators shouted slogans and beat drums. They also raised signs calling for an end to the war in Gaza and new elections. The signs read, “The battle will not bring back the Sandras and only an agreement will save lives.” In addition, there were signs that said, ” War has no winners, stop the war. 59 more hostages must be released.” and several other signs.
Israel itself has cut off the supply of food, fuel and humanitarian aid to around 2 million Palestinians in Gaza. Israel has also vowed to intensify its operations until Hamas releases the 59 Sandras they are holding.
24 of them are believed to be alive. However, Hamas said they would only release the remaining Sandras in exchange for a ceasefire and a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. This is as called for in the ceasefire agreement mediated by the United States, Egypt and Qatar before this demonstration thousands of Israelis had also packed Tel Aviv square on Tuesday 18 March 2025.
The aim was to protest the resumption of bombing in Gaza and Netanyahu’s desire to fire the head of internal security the security chief Sinbet Ronenbar had been a key player in the Gaza ceasefire negotiations but was recently replaced by a Netanyahu confidant.
Netanyahu now wants to fire bar saying he has lost confidence in him the demonstrators said the dismissal was a power grab by Netanyahu many also said the resumption of fighting could endanger the Sandra who is still being held in Gaza then more than 1000 protesters gathered again in Jerusalem on Wednesday 19 March 2025 they marched to the home of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Tanyahu to protest the resumption of the war in Gaza.
