6.6 Trillion Rupiah Corruption, Former Chinese Official Is Dead

6.6 Trillion Rupiah Corruption, Former Chinese Official Is Dead. The Chinese government recently executed a former corrupt official, Le Janping, who was found guilty of embezzling more than 3 billion Yuan or around Rp. 6 trillion, quoted from the meaning on Thursday, December 19.

Jianping is a former official in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and former secretary of the Communist Party Working Committee. He was sentenced to death in September 2022 for corruption, bribery, misuse of public funds and collusion with a criminal syndicate.

Jan Ping had filed an appeal but was rejected by the Supreme People’s Court in Inner Mongolia in August 2024. The death penalty was only carried out by the court on Tuesday, December 17. The strict action against corruption has been clearly visible since Xi Jinping took office as President of China for the third time.

Many billionaires and bankers have been expelled from the party and imprisoned during Beijing’s massive campaign against corruption last month. Former Bank of China Chairman Liu Liange was sentenced to death with a 2-year reprieve.

This sentence was given because Liange accepted bribes worth nearly 207 billion and issued illegal loans. Meanwhile, Janping’s corruption of around 6 trillion rupiah is called the largest in Chinese history.
